We don't really celebrate Valentines Day here in Denmark, but give it time we probably will. The florist are pushing really hard to make that happen.

We've had Halloween creep in a lot here the last few years. (Valentine's Day seemed to already be around when I moved to Australia.)

I am mostly ok with the adaption of other cultures holidays (read US) into of our own. It give people a excuse to people to party and enjoy them self, nothing wrong with that. A long the way will the cultural event probably get localized to a certain extent. I can still remember reportage from Japan, on how they celebrated Christmas, where they showed that you could buy a crucified Santa! and no it was not an ironic statement over the commercialism in Christmas
