The election (sigh)
Feb. 8th, 2005 07:49 pmI have done my citizen duty and have voted, at one of the most boring election, that I have seen. Politicians with a lot of gift giving. lower taxes more public service etc, and precious little ideology. Which had at least that positive side effect that the foreigner question has not really been brought up. The main reason for the little debate must be because that economical does it go very well for most people. The unemployment rate lays about 6.2% there are large surpluses on the government and the foreign trade accounts.
But in the coming years are there some large reforms in near future, and I do not really trust our current prime minister, a man who wrote a political book in the nineties called “From social state to minimal state”, to steer the welfare stat safely to the future. But sadly enough (imo) right now, it seems that the current Liberal-Conservative coalition gets re-elected.
